Application-specific linear guides and linear axes as well as transfer systems are suitable for cell production in dry room conditions. They ensure fault-free, permanent operation. The ActiveMover transfer system for short cycle applications is particularly suitable for feeding cells for module production where large numbers of items must be processed in a short space of time. FTS, the easy-to-integrate, contactless positioning and transfer system, makes the individual process steps easier. It takes over positioning tasks, allowing simpler machine mechanics in cell and module production.
Both in cell production and in battery module assembly, there are numerous tasks for cartesian two- and three-axis robots, also with gantry axes, e.g. for workpiece handling or pick & place applications. With its mechatronic modular system for multi-axis linear systems, Rexroth offers both a high degree of freedom for tailor-made solutions and a quick selection of pre-configured systems. The system solutions are based on the wide range of linear axes which are also available in corrosion-resistant versions.
In battery pack assembly, material transfer systems, intelligent tightening systems and manual workstations with assistance systems also allow work steps to be stabilized quickly. Because battery packs for electric and hybrid vehicles need to be tightened together while under voltage, Rexroth offers the optimum solution for worker safety with the Nexo cordless nutrunner in combination with protective insulation. The Process Quality Manager software solution immediately identifies any deviations from the set procedure.
During the last step of battery pack production, the end of line test (EOL), the battery pack is charged and then tested. Here, the universal inverter IndraDrive ML from Rexroth can be used as an active line inverter or as a DC/DC converter. The liquid-cooled version makes it possible to manufacture a very compact DC-source/sink control cabinet in which the process-related losses are efficiently removed from production. The universally applicable Rexroth Open Core Interface technology offers new possibilities for high-level language connection and enables direct access to all drive and control parameters.
All intelligent components, modules and system solutions have open interfaces to the Internet of Things and to connected environments. Data collected via sensors can be processed in Rexroth control systems, on edge or in the cloud.
